In this episode of Intermittent Fasting Stories, Gin talks to Lucie Fisher, who lives in the Bronx, NY. Lucie is a type 1 diabetic and host of The Fast Life with Diabetes Podcast, and she explains how intermittent fasting has helped her manage her blood glucose levels and lose weight.

IF is free. You don’t need to join our community to fast. But if you’re looking for support from a community of like-minded IFers, we are here for you at ginstephens.com/community.
Lucie shares that a naturopath recommended a keto diet to maintain her blood sugar numbers, but her body did not feel great with this way of eating. Frustrated, Lucie would try other diets, lose ten pounds, then gain it back.
In 2019, she learned of intermittent fasting from a friend, but not about the clean fast. This made IF hard! Then in 2021, Lucie came across an interview Gin gave about the clean fast. This changed Lucie’s IF journey. She has lost 30 pounds, and her A1C number has come down.
Lucie’s advice: “IF is possible with Type 1 Diabetes! Give it time. Your body will adjust. Talk to your doctor about adjusting your meds.”
