In this episode of Intermittent Fasting Stories, Gin talks to Amanda Bloomfield from Monument, CO.
Gin’s new book Clean(ish) is available for preorder! Gin wants to show you how to become clean(ish) where it counts: you’ll learn how to eat (mostly) clean and live (mainly) clean as you unlock your body’s natural ability to self-clean.
Instead of aiming for perfection (which is impossible) or changing everything at once (which is hard, and never leads to lasting change), you’ll cut through the confusion, lose the fear, and embrace the freedom that comes from becoming clean(ish). As you learn how to lower your toxic load through small changes, smart swaps, and simple solutions, you’ll breathe a (clean) sigh of relief and embrace your own personal evolution toward becoming clean(ish).
Go to https://www.ginstephens.com/cleanish.html for more information. The book will be released on 1/4/22, but you can preorder now through Amazon or your favorite online book retailer. Preordering is really important, as it gives the publisher an idea of how many books to print.
Amanda is an operations manager for a real estate office. She shares that she never had a weight problem growing up, but after having four children, she could never lose the weight she would gain with each pregnancy. She and her sisters would try various diet programs together. Amanda was either on a diet, or off a diet; there was no in-between. She became a pro at tracking macros, calories, and weighing food.
In March of 2019, one of her sisters mentioned IF, but Amanda dismissed it. Then after a family vacation, and seeing the scale go up yet again, Amanda decided to give IF a try. She knew it was time to do something about her weight.
On a food blog she follows, many people were talking about Delay, Don’t Deny and the Intermittent Fasting Stories Podcast, along with the DDD Facebook group. She quickly read the book, then listened to many of the success stories. This gave her hope and motivation!
Amanda has gone from 210 pounds to between 145-150 pounds. Her goal is 135 pounds. She has experienced some wonderful health benefits: her plantar fasciitis disappeared, her headaches and migraines have greatly decreased, and her cholesterol numbers have come down.
Amanda’s advice is to read Fast Feast Repeat, and listen to the IF Stories Podcast. Stick with it and be consistent. Give yourself a goal.
