Episode 147: Shannon Gardner and Cherie Krohn

In this episode of Intermittent Fasting Stories, Gin talks to two sisters:  Shannon Gardner and Cherie Krohn.  These sisters do everything together, including fasting.

Shannon and Cherie help run their family’s surf shop, Inner Light. They started dieting together, beginning in high school, and tried countless plans over the years.

In May of 2019, Cherie decided to pray and fast once a week for a relative. A month later, she had lost weight, and knew there was something to fasting. She shared this with Shannon, and after some research, she found the IF Stories podcast. They both began IF in June of 2019. Two years later, Shannon has lost 60 pounds, going from 220 pounds to 150 pounds. Cherie has lost 30 pounds, going from 170 pounds to 130 pounds.

Cherie’s knee pain and aches have disappeared. Shannon’s plantar fasciitis and headaches are completely gone, and they both have a great deal of energy.

The advice they’d give to new IFers: Cherie says, “Consistency is key. Fast every day. Use an app. It gets easy.” Shannon says,”Keep it simple. Don’t overcomplicate it. One day, one fast at a time.”
